Installing

A couple of minutes, and no account to make.

Open the .dmg and drag MidiSlayer to Applications.
Open it from Applications, and plug in your keyboard.

Run the .exe installer and follow the prompts.
Launch MidiSlayer from the Start menu, and plug in your keyboard.

First launch Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen while our signing certificate is still new to it. Choose More info, check the publisher reads Monoglyph Ltd, then Run anyway. That check is the point: only our real installer carries that signature.

Pick the package your distro uses.

One dependency On Ubuntu 24.04 and newer the AppImage needs libfuse2 before it will run: sudo apt install libfuse2. The .deb and .rpm pull in what they need on their own.

Every release ships a SHA256SUMS.txt covering all its files. One command, no key and no account, and you know the file you downloaded is the file that was built. Linux ships unsigned, so this is its signature; the macOS and Windows builds carry code signatures your OS checks on its own.

System requirements

A recommended baseline. It runs on less, but this keeps everything smooth.

Operating system: macOS 11 Big Sur or later, Windows 10 and 11, or 64-bit Linux (Debian, Fedora and friends).
A MIDI keyboard: Any MIDI piano or controller, connected over USB. The on-screen keyboard is enough to try it out; the real training wants real keys.
Processor: Any 64-bit dual-core CPU from roughly the last decade. No dedicated graphics card needed.
Memory & storage: 4 GB of RAM and around 150 MB of free disk. It's a small native app, not a heavy runtime.
Connection: One online activation, then it practises offline. Everything stays in a local database on your machine.

Your timing is stamped in a native layer the instant each note arrives, so a modest machine still scores you honestly. You don't need a fast CPU for an accurate grade, only for smooth visuals.
