Who runs this

midislayer.com and the MidiSlayer app are operated by Monoglyph Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17364027), registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, contact hello@monoglyph.co.uk. The content here describes a product in active development: features, dates and prices can change before launch, and we'd rather tell you that plainly than surprise you.

Buying MidiSlayer

Your purchase is made through Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), our merchant of record and authorised reseller. That means you buy the product from Paddle, and Paddle, not us, handles payment, billing, your invoice, sales tax/VAT, and cancellations and refunds. Paddle's buyer terms apply to that transaction. The software itself is licensed to you by Monoglyph Ltd under the licence terms below.

Cancelling and refunds

For a downloaded product you normally have a 14-day right to cancel under UK law, but that right ends once the download begins, if you agreed to start it straight away and acknowledged that you'd lose the right. Paddle captures that agreement at checkout, and the statutory cancellation and refund is handled by Paddle as the seller.

On top of that, we offer our own goodwill refund: if MidiSlayer doesn't work for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll authorise a refund through Paddle. This is a voluntary promise from us, over and above your legal rights. And the free version exists so you rarely need to find out the hard way.

Your licence

MidiSlayer is licensed, not sold: buy it once and use it for as long as you like. Activating your licence needs a one-time internet connection; after that MidiSlayer runs fully offline. Your key activates on up to two of your own devices at the same time; moving to a new machine is one click of "Deactivate on this device" in Settings. That syncs with our licence service to free the slot, so it needs a connection too. If a machine has died, or you're offline, email us and we'll free the slot for you. The licence is for your personal use; Studio licensing covers seats for institutions. Please don't redistribute the app or resell licence keys. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except to the extent the law expressly permits (for example, to achieve interoperability). Updates within the major version are included.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and you're entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund if it isn't. We can't and don't try to sign those rights away.

Ours and yours

The MidiSlayer name, app, site and artwork belong to Monoglyph Ltd. Your practice data belongs to you and lives on your device, which is exactly where we want it.

The legal bit

The site and app are provided as-is, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded under the law, including your statutory consumer rights. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, without taking away any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live. Questions to hello@monoglyph.co.uk.
